Do Not Worry About Your Life

The Bible says, ‘Do not worry.’ 365 times, to serve as a daily reminder not to worry. Don’t get me wrong, it may be tough with everything that is going on in your life, but surrender your worries to God and trust him to deliver you from the challenges you face. Remember that worrying often robs you of the joy you get from the present.

Think about it for a second, what things are you worried about in your life right now? Are you thinking about the financial troubles you find yourself in? Perhaps your thoughts are consumed of a regret that you had in the past with someone? Maybe you find yourself fearing a presentation, meeting or interview? Do you find yourself worrying about your child’s life and their future? Or maybe, you’re stressing over your aging parents, a friend who faces her own challenges, or your partner who doesn’t seem to be coping with life.

Now, consider why you haven’t handed those worried to God. Maybe, you felt He wouldn’t listen to you or that He would turn His back on you? The good news is that He is always listening to you. Even when you aren’t calling out to Him, He hears and sees your tears. He hears when you come to Him in prayer. Take every anxious thought that you have and bring it to Him. Lay them down at the foot of the cross and release them from your mind and your heart.

Some Bible verses that help you not to worry are:

Come to me, all you who are weary and burdened, and I will give you rest. Take my yoke upon you and learn from me, for I am gentle and humble in heart, and you will find rest for your souls. For my yoke is easy and my burden is light.” (Matthew 11:28-30)

Peace I leave with you; my peace I give you. I do not give to you as the world gives. Do not let your hearts be troubled and do not be afraid.John 14:27

Let the peace of Christ rule in your hearts, since as members of one body you were called to peace. And be thankful. Colossians 3:15

Now may the Lord of peace himself give you peace at all times and in every way. The Lord be with all of you.2 Thessalonians 3:16

Cast your cares on the LORD and he will sustain you; he will never let the righteous be shaken.Psalm 55:22

Anxiety weighs down the heart, but a kind word cheers it up.Proverbs 12:25

Even though I walk through the darkest valley, I will fear no evil, for you are with me; your rod and your staff, they comfort me.Psalm 23:4

Therefore, I tell you, do not worry about your life, what you will eat or drink; or about your body, what you will wear. Is not life more than food, and the body more than clothes? Look at the birds of the air; they do not sow or reap or store away in barns, and yet your heavenly Father feeds them. Are you not much more valuable than they? Can anyone of you by worrying add a single hour to your life? “And why do you worry about clothes? See how the flowers of the field grow. They do not labour or spin. Yet I tell you that not even Solomon in all his splendour was dressed like one of these. If that is how God clothes the grass of the field, which is here today and tomorrow is thrown into the fire, will he not much more clothe you-you of little faith? So, do not worry, saying, ‘What shall we eat?’ or ‘What shall we drink?’ or ‘What shall we wear?’ For the pagans run after all these things, and your heavenly Father knows that you need them. But seek first his kingdom and his righteousness, and all these things will be given to you as well. Therefore, do not worry about tomorrow, for tomorrow will worry about itself. Each day has enough trouble of its own.Mathew 6:25-34

Print these verses and let them serve as a reminder that God already knows what will happen every single day even before it happens. There is nothing that surprises Him or causes Him to rethink what He is doing. His plans for your life are the best-laid plans. Allow your Father to direct you on this path and learn to trust Him.
