For he who sows to his flesh will of the flesh reap corruption, but he who sows to the Spirit will of the Spirit reap everlasting life. (Galatians 6:8 NKJV)   There are so many stories I could tell you about my adventures with the Holy Spirit....

One of the most fascinating and unique relationships outlined in all of the Bible is Jesus’ relationship to His Father. The book of John in particular hones in on the curious revelations Jesus shares about their Father-Son dynamic. Reading these verses, I’m challenged. Do I...

by Melissa de Lange On the 30th of January 1986 I was born at 11:00 in the morning. My journey into this world wasn’t an easy one. When my mom went for her check up at the doctors she didn't know that she was in labor....

There was a period in my life I broke God's heart. A time I thought God had surely forgotten about me. Caught in a web of deceit and betrayal my recovery and restoration was a bloody and tragic one. I grovelled in a murky pit of...

Many readers will recognise the name Louie Giglio as the founder of the Passion conferences and the famous ‘Indescribable’ preacher. In his book, Seeing God as a Perfect Father (an updated and retitled edition of Not Forsaken), Giglio shares truth about God’s fatherhood, our worldly...

In my previous post, I wrote about how we may relate to God the Trinity, by briefly outlining how we may be image bearers of the Trinity through mind, body and spirit, which I would now like to unpack in more detail looking at us as image bearers of the Father, the Son and the Holy Spirit.

Image Bearers of the Father

"Then God said, 'Let us make mankind in our image, in our likeness, so that they may rule over the fish in the sea and the birds in the sky, over the livestock and all the wild animals, and over all the creatures that move along the ground.'" (Genesis 1:26 NIV). Something that strikes me in the above verse is how God made it clear to us in the very beginning that He existed as a self-sufficient community. It is not by accident that the pronoun “us” is used instead of “me” and points directly to God as the Holy Trinity. What is more, we are created in His image, which means we are three persons in one.

“But Jesus said, ‘Leave her alone. Why do you trouble her? She has done a beautiful thing to me.’” (Mark 14:6 ESV)
I find this verse in the account of the woman anointing Jesus’ feet with expensive perfume interesting. There was a lot going on at this time in Jesus’ ministry. He knew that His life was coming to an end, and He was trying to prepare His followers for what was going to happen.

Thursday the first of August is Cup of Faith's sixth birthday! It's been a beautiful, grace-filled challenge to pick up the website from Megan. I have loved getting to know our writers and our community over the past year. When we open our hearts and hands...
