12 Jan Restoration
Overburdened and weighed down by the worries of life? Do your happy days appear dark and filled with tribulations? Maybe there are days that you are kept awake, reflecting on your life and all you’ve lost over the years. Perhaps you’ve lost hope of recovering and healing. You may now regard yourself as a failure, believing the lies of the devil, but right now, I want you to know that we serve a living God that has never failed and will never fail you. Although weeping might endure for the night, joy comes in the morning.
God is set to restore whatsoever the enemy had stolen from us, and He gave us his assurance in the book of Joel 2:25–26; I will repay you for the years the locusts have eaten — the great locust and the young locust, the other locusts and the locust swarm — my great army that I sent among you. You will have plenty to eat until you are full, and you will praise the name of the LORD your God, who has worked wonders for you; never again will my people be shamed.
Hence, be at peace. Your restoration is right next to you. Keep your faith in Jesus and Him alone. God is able to do the impossible. Don’t give up, continue asking, and trusting God. I pray for you: God shall restore all your lost years, career, marriage, relationship, children, jobs, health, purpose, businesses, home, peace, opportunities, hope, faith, courage, understanding, properties, smile, friendship, potentials, prayer altars, family, spiritual life, and all your lost desires in accordance to the will of God.
Do you feel you’re the only one experiencing hard times and like no one can understand you? Well, I can relate with that feeling but here is the thing: everyone goes through difficult times in life, challenges are inevitable on our journey and helps prepare us for what’s ahead.
Let’s do a quick review of what happened to David and what actions he took next (1 Samuel 30). It was recorded that David and his men returned home and behold their home had been burnt down, their sons, daughters, and wives were taken captive including David’s two wives. On seeing what had happened they wept till they had no more power to weep. These men found themselves in a state of distress, their condition can be likened to what most of us are experiencing presently. And we’ve got no more tears to weep and confusion is all we see around.
David’s men became grieved and due to the pressure, they thought of stoning David as though he was the cause of their predicament. Despite the threat and stress, the Bible said; David encouraged himself in the lord. Amazing! David chose to hold unto his God instead of worrying about his plight. How have you been handling your challenges? Have you given up, are creating a negative escape route, or are you encouraging yourself in the Lord?
We can attest to the fact that David was a warrior right from his early years. He would’ve chased his enemies immediately with the confidence of defeating them, but David realizes how insufficient he was in himself without the help of the Lord. David chose to seek the counsel of the Lord before taking decisions to prevent his downfall. Whose counsel are we seeking before making important decisions? That of friends, or books, our will, or God’s will? To experience restoration we must first seek the counsel of the Lord on matters concerning us. Don’t be in a haste to solve problems your way, calm down, take a deep breath, and go to God in prayer.
Dear friends, it’s beneficial to follow the Lord’s leading, with his guidance our victory, restoration, and recovery are guaranteed. From the above scripture, we see how God told David to pursue and overtake his enemies. Beyond that, God also assured him of recovering all that the enemy had stolen from him. They recovered all by heeding to God’s instructions.
Stop wallowing in your misery, stop trying to fix things with your human abilities. Fall back to God for help and your restoration is certain. Acknowledge Him as Lord over your life, therein, lies your comfort and rest.
