17 Sep Never Lose Focus

One day He went into the house to attend to his activities and none of the servants was inside. She caught him by his cloak and said ‘ come to bed with me’. But he left his cloak in her hand and ran out of the house. – Genesis 39:11-12 NIV

Joseph had thought that he had reached the end of his painful and challenging season by coming to Potiphar’s house. Prior to him arriving, he was sold as a slave. The good thing about Joseph was that he never backed down, he never gave in and he believed in the Lord. He had the reassurance that our Father would never leave him nor forsake him. He allowed his master’s wife to strip him of his cloak and pursued righteousness. He did so, not because he respected his master or because he was a man of integrity, but rather because Joseph had the fear of God in him and he knew that by pursuing righteousness he shall reap in hundredfold.

Today, we have people who have been stripped of their integrity through abuse, false accusations or even by being abandoned by their loved ones. God has a plan for each and every one of us and I firmly believe that He will always connect you with the right people and resources at the right time. He is God, our Father, and beside Him, there is none and no greater love than the love of God.

How great is your goodness which you have stored up for those who fear you which you bestow in the sight of men on those who take refuge in you? – Psalm 31:19 NIV

You might be a leader in many facets of life and perhaps they have stripped you naked as they did with Joseph. Let them hold on to the cloaks of your life, run the race, and keep carrying on, for the redeemer lives and He will reward your faithfulness. Remember that some have lost everything in trying to defend and protect their images.  Our Father will vindicate you and you shall be celebrated in due course, and like Joseph you will be crowned king in the presence of his accusers.

When you get to the deep end of life, it may feel like you are sinking. Tie a knot in the word of God and hang on, He will surely deliver you.
