05 Aug Winning In Adversity
Today, I want to remind you that God is greater than anything the world can throw at you and that He will always be the source that never runs dry and gives us exactly what we need at the right time.
“Here comes that dreamer” they said to each other. “Come now let’s kill him and throw him into one of these cisterns and say that a ferocious animal devoured him. Then we’ll see what comes of his dreams”. – Genesis 37:19-20 NIV
Joseph was destined for greatness. The Lord had favoured him and blessed him amongst his siblings, so when jealousy got the better of them, they plotted evil against him and thought they had won and had destroyed him, together with his dreams. But all this was divinely planned because God is all-knowing and He has ordered our steps.
If the Lord delights in a man’s way, He makes his steps firm, though he stumbles he will not fall for the Lord upholds him with His hand. – Psalm 37:23-24 NIV
Even if you are going through a rough patch and you feel weary, put your trust and hope in the Lord. He is never late but always on time and provides for your every need. You may find yourself surrounded by enemies, who try to take you down. For some, perhaps you have found yourselves sharing your dreams and visions with other people, who you thought would motivate, encourage and believe in you. But instead, they are fighting and telling you how incapable you are, how they tried and failed and how you’re bound to fail too. They may try discourage you by saying it will be a waste of time to even try. But you, my sister, are a believer so believe in the word of God and the dreams, aspirations, talents and visions He has put inside of you. I have been there too – I have been left feeling discouraged – but l conquered through prayer and asking God for wisdom.
If any of you lacks wisdom, he should ask God who gives generously to all without finding fault,and it will be given to him. – James 1:5 NIV
In life, there will always be adversaries, trying to bring you down. Some of them are failures themselves, just trying to drag you down with them. But all praise be unto God who has already blessed us with all spiritual understanding. You can do it and can achieve more, for where He leads us, He provides. It is doable.
You have been created with endless possibilities and opportunities in your path. You’re in this world as a victor and not a victim. God gave you dominion over all things.
