16 Mar Women of Honour
“Honor her for all that her hands have done, and let her works bring her praise at the city gate.”
Proverbs 31:27, 31 NIV
There is such honour in serving your husband and family. Stay-at-home moms and wives actually do work. Their work doesn’t get paid in the traditional sense and they don’t have KPI’s that can help measure their performance but their impact can be seen in communities. I know women who gave up careers to raise their children and their husbands careers skyrocketed. I know women who felt called to get involved in charities and those charities who ended up becoming beneficiaries of company trusts. Hundreds of underprivileged lives have been uplifted all because of a stay-at-home mom.
Don’t let the world tell you that you are not valuable. Raising children of good morals and manners will impact the world greatly. You are important. God has allowed you to be in this position for a reason. He wants you to answer His call. Pray and seek His face and He will guide you to do His will.
If you are one of us women who ‘have to work’ in the modern sense of the world, I would like to encourage you not to talk badly of the women who don’t have to. Raise them up and honour them. We are all sisters in Christ and equally valuable in Gods eyes.
