31 Jan Servant Heart
Jesus, the son of God, came to this earth to serve us. Yet how many of us don’t want to serve others.
We all want to be managers and CEO’s.
We don’t want to do menial work.
We want to be important.
It’s funny, isn’t it?
Our Creator doesn’t see it as below Him to serve us. He helps and blesses us over and over again. He heals and cleans up our mess, but so often we don’t want to help others and we act and speak differently to people who have certain jobs or who are dressed a certain way.
God calls us out on this approach in James 2:
“Suppose a man comes into your meeting wearing a gold ring and fine clothes, and a poor man in filthy old clothes also comes in. If you show special attention to the man wearing fine clothes and say, “Here’s a good seat for you,” but say to the poor man, “You stand there” or “Sit on the floor by my feet,” have you not discriminated among yourselves and become judges with evil thoughts?”
James 2:2-4 NIV
